Participating In The Catalyst Awards

Call for Entries

Submissions for the Catalyst Awards will be accepted June 3, 2009, through noon on August 14, 2009. Any automotive-related interactive advertising placed on the web from October 2008 – July 2009 is eligible for entry. See the Rules to the right, for additional eligibility requirements.

Interactive Competition Categories

Awards recognizing excellence and innovation will be given to one winner in each of the following interactive advertising categories. Please note, participants may only submit one entry per category:

  1. Rich Media
    Exhibits dynamic motion. This motion may occur over time, may take over a website page or be in direct response to user interaction. An example of dynamic motion in response to user interaction is a prerecorded webcast coupled with a synchronized virtual test drive that allows user control. Other examples: shopping tools, pushdown, configurator, 3D Animation, etc.
  2. Social Media
    Internet-based tools for sharing and discussing information. Online technologies and practices that people use to share opinions, insights, experiences, and perspectives with each other through user-created video, audio, text or multimedia that are published and shared in a social environment, such as a mirco-site, blog, wiki or video hosting site.
  3. New/Emerging Media
    Interactive tools that express a brand and show off a service in a new digital way; examples are widgets, games, and/or phone applications.
  4. Standard Messaging Media
    A campaign that is developed to reach a consumer at the right time with the right message. Campaigns that target all stages of a consumers consideration phases. Practices may include conquesting, behavioral targeting, sequencing, co-branding, and utilizing 3rd party content.
  5. Cross Platform
    Developing software for, or running software on, more than one type of interactive platform. For example, micro sites.
  6. Best Creative the Client Didn't Buy
    This is the work that the client didn't buy. Anything that shows creative thinking, but will not see the light of day. Entries can be pitch work, creative mocks, anything you are proud of that didn't make it on the web.

How to Enter

  1. Review the "Interactive Competition Categories" listed above to find the most appropriate category for your submission (only one submission per category, please).
  2. Log in as an entrant to submit your entries.
  3. Follow the simple drop down menus to enter the requested information.

Submission of entries acknowledges the right of Catalyst Awards to use them for publication, exhibition and marketing of the show.

Rules

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration in the Catalyst Award competition, all work submitted must be the result of paid creative services and media placement in the normal course of business, and must have appeared on the web at some point during October 2008 – July 2009. Entrants must be in attendance at the J.D. Power and Associates Automotive Internet Roundtable. Submission of entries acknowledges the right of Catalyst Interactive Advertising Award (CIAA) to use them for publication, exhibition and marketing of the show.

All Entries Must:

  • Meet all eligibility and deadline requirements.
  • Be entered in the correct category and be correctly identified.
  • Include a complete and signed entry form.
  • Conform to defined submission requirements.
  • Conform to all copyright laws.
